Susan Ogle

Susan Ogle was named director of the Drum Barracks Civil War Museum in January of 2000. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Art History from California State University, Northridge in 1992 and her Master’s Degree in Art History from the University of California, Riverside in 1997. She was a student teacher at UCR for her last year of studies, was named Teaching Assistant of the Year for 1997, and served as the Art History Department’s Graduate Student Lecturer for 1997.

Her previous museum experience includes the Los Angeles County Museum of Art in the Doris Stein Research Center Archives of the Costumes and Textiles Department and in the Photography Department, the Pasadena Historical Museum where she mounted seven exhibitions, the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles and the Armand Hammer Museum of Art.

Susan is a native of Minnesota, where she attended the University of Minnesota and held positions as editor, writer and photographer at weekly newspapers in northeastern Iowa and suburban Minneapolis, Minnesota. She moved to the warmer weather of Los Angeles in 1976. She worked in the area of office administration in London, England in 1987 and held administration and management positions in interior design, computer consulting and television media firms in Los Angeles.
