Docents play a major role in presenting the Drum Barracks Civil War Museum to the public, as their interpretations give meaning to the stories the Museum has to tell. They have undergone special training to give them information and knowledge about the Museum and it’s history.

 

Dave Bean has been a docent at the Drum Barracks since 1999 and volunteers at the museum on a weekly basis..  He is also a member of the Board of Directors.

Floyd Farrar has been a docent at the Drum Barracks since 2000.  He has contributed to several displays in the museum, and specializes in the Armory..  

Sandy Ashdown-Turner is a docent at the Drum Barracks and the Treasurer of the Board of Directors.

Barbara Banister (left) has been a docent for the Drum Barracks since 2002. She is a reenactor and goes by the name of “Private Bart.”

 


Ron Hyde has been a docent at the Drum Barracks since 2007 and has a special love for the museum's Armory Room.

Seven new docents were welcomed to the Drum Barracks after completing  the 2007 Docent Training Class.
